Pet Appreciation: 4 Ways to Show Your Pet How Much You Appreciate Them

2–3 minutes

There’s nothing quite like being greeted by your fur baby at the end of a long day. But how often do we show our pets equal enthusiasm for their existence in our lives? This month, we’re taking an extra moment to celebrate the critters that add joy, chaos, and lots of love to your life. Try these simple ways to show them how much you appreciate them. Now or anytime–is when we show our pet appreciation and celebrate our fur babies!

Donate & Volunteer

Give back to your local animal rescue, shelter, or Humane Society (such as League City Pets Alive). Even if you don’t have the funds to donate, you can always gift pet food, blankets, leashes, toys, towels, treats, and more. Or, volunteer a few hours a week, where you can to help exercise the shelter animals or take them on play dates to help find their fur-ever home.

Show Pet Appreciation with Tricks & Treats

Build the human-animal bond with your feathered and furry friends by scheduling some training time. Whether you’re working on a new party trick (such as roll over) or have a working dog to teach new skills, your pet will love spending quality time with you by their side.

Invest in quality dental treats to boost oral health while keeping pets encouraged during training sessions. Need extra pets advice? As us for treat recommendations or connect with our sister business next door, Bayside Bed & Biscuit, for training and socialization.

Foster a Pet Friend

Even if you’re not a current pet owner, you can show your love and appreciation for animals by applying to be a foster parent. Pet fostering provides temporary care for pets who are 1) looking to be adopted; or 2) whose owners may have to surrender them due to extenuating circumstances, like military deployment or after a surgery.

Foster homes allow pets to remain in a home environment, learn essential skills like potty training and socializing, and allow shelters to increase their overall capacity to care for homeless animals. And, who knows? You may end up finding your fur-ever friend!

Book a Pet Spa Day

Schedule your fur baby a date with their favorite groomer for a bit of pampering. Keeping pets’ fur clean, nails trimmed, and teeth cleaned is an essential part of their overall well-being. If you have any questions or concerns about how often you should be grooming your pet, don’t hesitate to contact us!

Whether you have a herd at home, are a single-pet household, or have yet to foray into your pet parent era, there are plenty of ways to share your love of animals. We encourage you to give back to the community and your companions as often as you can!
