Senior Cat Toys & Playtime
Senior cats love to play and cuddle as much as younger cats do–once they feel safe, comfortable, and at home. Exercise and play are just as important for older cats, as the activity helps them to maintain mobility, keep their weight down, and keep their minds engaged. The worst thing to do for your cat’s health is to let them become sedentary. Cats need exercise to keep their bodies and minds healthy, just like humans.
Start with just a few toys for your newly adopted cat, and after a few weeks or months, you’ll know which toys and types of items entice his or her attention. This will be helpful. Then you’ll know which types of toys to get for your kitty. We always suggest starting with a scratching post and a cat tower, as this will help teach your cat to not claw at the furniture and provide a place for them to play and hide that’s all their own. Almost all cats enjoy these items. If you need more guidance for purchasing cat toys for your furry friend, be sure to ask our team for recommendations.
