Senior Dog Comfort & Care

Senior Dog Comfort & Care

A Senior dog will require plenty of love and care, just as with any puppy or adult dog. Senior pets, however, are older and have different needs than their younger counterparts. While senior pets can run, jump, and play just like any other pup, they are more prone to arthritis, soreness, and inflammation, which appear more frequently as they age. We’re here to help you reduce and treat these issues, but accommodations such as a cozy bed and a set of doggie stairs to help them climb into bed with you can’t hurt. Especially if they’re showing signs of difficulty with these bigger movements.

We also suggest more frequent vet visits (a few times a year rather than annually) and yearly bloodwork here at Bayside Animal Hospital, to ensure there aren’t any internal issues we can’t see during a head-to-tail exam.
